Frequently Asked Questions.

What happens if my purchase is damaged during delivery?

We take great care in making sure this doesn’t happen by packaging your purchase as if it were a live bomb. However, accidents do happen. In this instance, if provided with a photo of the damage sustained to your purchase, we will provide full refunds if the ceramic is so damaged it can’t be used.

Why is my ceramic making a ‘pinging’ noise?

Sounds like someone flicking the inside of your ceramic, right? This is called ‘crazing’ and there’s lots of scary information about it on the internet that tells you your mug is going to crack and crumble before your very eyes. It’s not quite that dramatic. Essentially, that noise is the clay and the glaze trying to adjust to different temperatures and it can cause cracks in your ceramic. This can happen as soon as they are taken out of the kiln, or it could happen months later. It’s just something that can occur in hand made ceramics. However, we test our products to make sure they’re able to withstand heat and if there’s any sign of crazing after these tests, we won’t sell it. Our motto is - If there’s a ping, chuck it in the bin. That said, we are unable to take any responsibility if you purchase a ceramic and it starts to ping afterwards.

Can you give me an exact time that my commission will be ready?

Short answer? No. We use a communal firing service and while we can give you a rough estimate of when we can get things done, we are running off of someone else’s schedule when our work is being fired. We always prioritise commissions and will do everything in our power to finish projects in a timely fashion.

The ceramic I want to purchase is sold out. Do I have to wait until the next shop restock to buy it?

Not at all. If you see something you love in the shop and it’s already been purchased, put in a commission submission and we’ll make it for you.

How often is your shop restocked?

We will do a ‘shop drop’ every few months. Follow us on our socials to get updates about when this will be. We love experimenting and making different things, so the products may not be the same every time, but if you see something that’s been sold and simply must have it, visit the commissions page to get one made.
